During PE lessons pupils are taught a variety of new, and original skills which they will use when taking part in game situations, such as netball and football, or to build up routines, for example in dance and gymnastics.

They will learn the rules of the games they play, what muscles they use when playing, and how to prevent injury.

They are taught the value of exercise and its importance for a healthy lifestyle, both now and for the future.

Pupils are all taught in single gender, mixed ability groups at first, this is to get everyone used to PE, and get all pupils relaxed and enjoying the lessons.  They will then be grouped according to their ability in the lesson.  We believe it is better to group according to ability, as pupils can work at the same pace as the rest of their group.
